An informative new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting the United States did not join the joint anti-Russian statement by Ukraine and Western countries at the United Nations yesterday, says this abandonment of Ukraine by America was followed by the news: “Half of countries withdraw from ammunition initiative for Ukraine...Participation in a Czech-led initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine has fallen from 18 countries to 9”, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assessed to his United Nations colleagues after watching these events: “We are gathered here at a time when the international situation is undergoing the most complex and profound changes since the end of the Second World War”.
As a critical component of the most complex and profound changes since the end of World War II currently ongoing, this report notes, it saw the Ukrainian state media revealing today: “Chernihiv, a northern Ukrainian city near the border with Belarus and Russia, came under a massive Russian attack in the early hours of Wednesday...Around 15 explosions were reported”—a revelation joined by military expert Andrey Ilnitsky of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (CFDP) most factually observing:
The Foreign Ministry’s
statement regarding the targeted strike on an educational institution in Starobelsk, which resulted in the death of students,
highlighted that the ‘cup of patience’ had overflowed.
This means that the amount of suffering and anger
that society and the state can put up with has reached a certain breaking
point.
In such a situation,
transitioning to a strategy of ‘managed escalation’ seems like a rational
necessity.
It is essential to
understand that the spiritual essence of ‘managed
escalation’ lies
not in revenge but in a moral cause-and-effect relationship: justice acts as an
objective spiritual law, a form of retribution that cannot be avoided. In
military terms, this strategy involves gradually increasing the costs for the
Ukrainian nationalists and their Western partners.
The adversary must realize
that every step we take up the escalation ladder sends a clear message about
our serious intentions, the inevitable expansion of strikes and the means of
attack, demonstrating that the previous limits of restraint have been
exhausted, and the next blow will be even more painful and will cause greater
damage.
Ahead of the massive blows Russia is preparing against Ukraine, this report concludes, the Foreign Ministry warned the Western colonial powers to evacuate their diplomats and citizens from Kiev—a warning followed by European Union Ambassador Katarina Mathernova to Ukraine defiantly proclaiming: “The EU is not going anywhere...We are staying in Kyiv...We are staying with Ukraine”—and was a defiant proclamation swiftly responded to by Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, who assessed: “The EU has said it will maintain its diplomatic presence in Kiev unchanged, despite Russia’s warnings...Well, apparently they’ve got diplomats to spare and need to trim the headcount”.
