An extraordinary new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting the Vatican announced yesterday: “Today, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV spoke by telephone with His Excellency Mr Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation”, says this announcement was joined with the news: “President Donald Trump said he would welcome President Vladimir Putin at the upcoming G20 summit in Florida, despite efforts by Ukraine and other European countries to isolate Moscow”, and Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl observed about the diesel fuel deal agreement reached between Russia and America last week: “The EU says that this undermines the West’s united position...However, one could also say that this marks a shift by the US toward a more pragmatic approach, while the EU continues to pursue a purely ideological line”.
Following the phone conservation between President Putin and Pope Leo XIV yesterday, this report notes, President Donald Trump signed into immediate force his executive order “IMPLEMENTING THE LINDSEY O. GRAHAM SANCTIONING RUSSIA AND IRAN ACT OF 2026”, wherein he decreed: “By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, I hereby determine and order: The Graham Act provides for the imposition of certain sanctions with respect to foreign persons, restrictions with respect to persons, and duties with respect to goods imported into the United States from the Russian Federation and certain other countries...I am hereby waiving the application of such sanctions, restrictions, and duties provided for in the Graham Act...I have submitted to the Congress a certification that the issuance of such a waiver at this time is in the national interests of the United States”.
In response to President Trump waiving what is described as “bone crushing” sanctions on countries buying Russia energy supplies, this report continues, top Kremlin presidential aide Kirill Dmitriev proclaimed: “The suspension of some of the provisions of the Graham Act marks an important and truly historic moment...Economic cooperation between Russia and the United States serves the interests of both nations, contributes to global economic stability, and lays the foundation for building trust and achieving lasting peace”.
In opposition to President Trump waiving sanctions on Russia, this report details, Ukraine Nazi Regime unelected Dictator Vladimir Zelensky declared in rage: “At a time when the Russians have carried out such a massive attack on our energy sector, a decision was unfortunately made in America to completely disregard the Lindsey Graham Act, which was supposed to impose truly effective pressure on Russia to bring this war to an end”—a declaration of rage joined with the news: “Vladimir Zelensky has emerged from the EU summit in Brussels with fresh promises of support but no deal on the additional €70 billion he is demanding for Ukraine...Instead, European leaders tasked the European Commission with finding ways to meet Kiev’s growing financial needs, leaving the question of who will foot the bill unanswered”—and the defense article “In Space, No One Hears Zelensky Scream” most factually observed:
