An informative new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed confidence that the State Duma election results will confirm the Russian people’s commitment to the domestic and foreign policy course set by President Putin, says the ruling United Russia party is poised to lock in its parliamentary majority, having gained almost 60% of the vote, according to preliminary Central Election Commission figures.
Among the international observers watching the Russian election, this report notes, was world-renowned retired CIA senior analyst Larry Johnson, who factually documented today:
