Europe Warns It Is “Truly Alone” After Trump-Xi

A consequential new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting President Xi Jinping revealed about his private two-hour conversation with President Donald Trump: “We reached important common understandings on maintaining stable economic and trade ties, expanding practical cooperation in various fields, and properly addressing each other's concerns”, says this revelation was immediately followed by the news: “President Donald Trump left Beijing on Friday afternoon, concluding his state visit to China...Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of foreign affairs, saw Trump off at the airport”.

Yesterday, this report details, Iran sunk one ship and seized another in the Strait of Hormuz, then Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared today: “The only solution to the issue of passage through the Strait of Hormuz is a complete cessation of the aggressive war waged by the United States against Iran, after which we will guarantee safe passage for every vessel”.
Also upon President Trump leaving China today, this report notes, top Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced: “We are closely monitoring the information about the results of Trump's visit to China that comes through the media...As they say, first-hand, we hope to receive this information when we are in China...The Kremlin will soon announce the dates of President Vladimir Putin's visit to China”—an announcement joined with the news: “Russia’s oil export revenues have continued to rise despite lower production thanks to high oil prices...According to the International Energy Agency monthly market report for May, Russia’s oil export revenues clocked in at $19.18 billion in April, good for a modest $180 million increase from March but a massive jump of $6.28 billion compared to April 2025”—and it was also revealed: “The European Union’s imports of Russian liquefied natural gas has reached a record high this year, amid the growing energy crisis triggered by the United States-Israeli war on Iran”.
After watching the Trump-Xi Summit continue to shift the global balance of power towards the East and away from the West, this report concludes, it caused former President Mario Draghi of the European Central Bank to warn: “The world that once helped Europe generate prosperity no longer exists...President Donald Trump’s increasingly confrontational and unpredictable policies have left Europe truly alone”—and was a warning quickly joined with the news: “The Pentagon has abruptly cancelled a planned deployment of 4,000 U.S. troops to Poland, as concerns over the reliability of U.S. military commitments to European allies continue to increase...The surprise announcement comes just weeks after the U.S. Department of Defense announced on May 1 that the United States will withdraw about 5,000 troops from Germany, a key NATO ally, amid rising tensions between Washington and Berlin over the war in Iran”.
