A compelling new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting President Donald Trump faced a 1 May legal deadline to continue his war on Iran under the War Powers Resolution, says instead of asking the United States Congress for a war approval as the law dictates after 60 days from when a conflict starts, he declared: “For War Powers Resolution purposes, the hostilities that began on Saturday, February 28, have terminated”.
In the hours right before President Trump declared that his war on Iran was terminated, this report notes, the top American defense think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) revealed: “Iran’s missiles and drones, and one devastating instance of so-called friendly fire, have destroyed US military equipment worth between $2.3 billion and $2.8 billion”, and the New York Times grimly assessed about the failed war on Iran: “Tactical success has not yielded victory...Mr. Trump’s recklessness in conducting the war is one reason...But the problem is bigger than any single commander in chief...The United States has left itself unprepared for modern war”.
In the days right before President Trump declared that his war on Iran was terminated, this report continues, he claimed Iran’s oil infrastructure is “days away from exploding” because its crude oil is bottled up due to his blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and won’t be able to shut down properly—American experts quickly countered this claim: “Iran has weeks of space left in its tanks to store oil that it can’t export...This should give Tehran time to ramp down oil fields in an orderly way that avoids permanent damage”—this is also known as the “Bogus Blockade” because up to 13 tankers a day have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz since President Trump imposed his so-called blockade—and the Wall Street Journal revealed: “Just weeks after President Trump declared the Strait of Hormuz “COMPLETELY OPEN AND READY FOR BUSINESS” only to see ship traffic stall, the administration is now asking other countries to join a new international coalition that would enable ships to navigate the waterway...The effort, called the “Maritime Freedom Construct”, was spelled out in an internal State Department cable sent to U.S. embassies on Tuesday that called on U.S. diplomats to press foreign governments into signing up”.
While President Trump was preparing to declare that his war on Iran was terminated, this report details, yesterday it saw Israel Defense Minister Katz warning: “It is possible that soon we will need to act again in Iran to ensure that the regime cannot threaten Israel for years to come”—a warning that followed the grim news from last month: “Israel’s Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir issued a stark warning to the country’s cabinet this week: unless urgent measures are taken, the Israeli army is on the brink of collapse”—yesterday it was revealed: “Israel has formally informed the United States government that its deterrence capability against Hezbollah is nearing collapse”—and today it was reported: “The United States has delivered 6,500 tons of munitions and equipment to Israel within the past 24 hours”.
At the same time the United States is spending billions-of-dollars to keep the Israeli military from collapsing, this report concludes, Acting Pentagon Comptroller Jules Hurst announced to the United States Congress: “The Pentagon’s draft budget for fiscal year 2027 does not include funding for military aid to Ukraine”—and was an announcement joined with the shocking news: “The U.S. national debt now exceeds 100% of gross domestic product, crossing a once-unthinkable threshold, on the way toward breaking the record set in the wake of World War II”.
