United States Releases $100 Billion To Iran After It Says “We Lost The Key” To Strait Of Hormuz

An informative new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting Vice President J.D. Vance announced after his talks with Iran ended in Pakistan yesterday: “The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement...And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America”, says this announcement was joined by the Iranian government statement: “The American enemy, which is vile, wicked and dishonest — attempted to achieve on the negotiating table what it could not achieve through war...Among these demands are handing over enriched uranium and opening the Strait of Hormuz without confirmed Iranian sovereignty over it...Iran has decided to reject these terms and continue the sacred defense of its fatherland by any means necessary, military or diplomatic”.

As it pertains to the enriched uranium of any country, this report notes, it is not a matter under the legal jurisdiction of the United States, but of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), whose Article IV clearly states that all signatory nations have the “inalienable right” to develop nuclear technology for peaceful applications without discrimination—Iran has for decades used its nuclear technology only for peaceful applications, which is why Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard factually testified under oath to the United States Congress last March: “The Intelligence Community continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003”.

As it pertains to the Strait of Hormuz, this report continues, it is also not under the legal jurisdiction of the United States, nor is it under the legal jurisdiction of United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which neither the United States or Iran ratified and are therefore not bound to—which means that the Strait of Hormuz now legally exists under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which allows a state to act in self-defense if an armed attack occurs, and Iran can make a self-defense claim to justify its attacks in the strait.

After President Donald Trump used crude language toward Iran last week, saying: “Open the damn strait, you bastards”, this report details, Iran sarcastically replied: “We lost the key”—and to presumably help Iran find the key they lost to open the Strait of Hormuz, yesterday it saw CBS News revealing: “Washington has agreed to release frozen Iranian assets held in Qatar and other foreign jurisdictions...Unfreezing the assets is directly linked to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz...The exact value of Iran’s frozen assets remains unclear, though by some estimates the figure exceeds $100 billion”.

Quickly following CBS News revealing that the United States was releasing at least $100 billion back to Iran, this report notes, President Trump posted: “We’re now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to Countries all over the World, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, and many others...Incredibly, they don’t have the Courage or Will to do this work themselves”—and was a post joined by the United States Central Command comically announcing: “Two U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers, the USS Frank E. Peterson and USS Michael Murphy, have begun operations in the Arabian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz to set conditions to clear sea mines”.

Though these two American destroyers are factually in the Arabian Gulf, this report continues, Iran denied that they entered the Strait of Hormuz and warned: “Permission to transit, in accordance with specific regulations, is granted exclusively to non-military vessels”.

Most comically to notice about these two Arleigh Burke Class guided-missile destroyers, this report concludes, is that they are anti-aircraft and offensive missile platforms, not minesweepers—and the United States has no minesweepers to send through the Strait of Hormuz because they fled to Singapore right before the war on Iran started, which caused American defense experts to observe in shock: “As to why the Navy sent two of its three mine hunters in the Middle East not just out of the line of fire, but literally across the globe at a time when the U.S. and its allies could be facing the mining of one of the world’s most critical waterways remains a mystery”.
