Trump Toppling Of World Order Warned Is Prelude To Global War

A chilling new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting French President Emmanuel Macron grimly assessed: “We are evolving in a world of great powers, with a real temptation to divide up the world among them...The United States has an established power, but one that is gradually turning away from some of its allies and freeing itself from international rules that it was still promoting not so long ago”, says German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier then fearfully warned that the United States has toppled the world order and declared: “Today it is about preventing the world from turning into a den of robbers, where the most unscrupulous take what they want, where regions and entire countries are treated like the property of a few great powers, where attempts are made to push even the medium-sized states –and that includes us– to the margins of history, and where small and weaker states are left without protection altogether...We simply cannot be weak...We will only play a role in this changed world or world in transition if we are also taken seriously militarily...And that's where we have to get”.
In the latest example of a great power treating other countries like their own property, this report notes, President Donald Trump warningly proclaimed yesterday: “We're going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not...I would like to make a deal, you know, the easy way...But if we don’t do it the easy way, we’re going to do it the hard way”—a “hard way” threat against Greenland territory owner Denmark that collides with its still in force 1952 military directive: “In the event of an attack on Danish territory or on a Danish military unit outside Danish territory, the attacked forces must immediately take up the fight without waiting for or seeking orders, even if the declaration of war or state of war is not known to the commanders in question”—and the New York Times observed today: “Mr. Trump’s surreal endeavor to conquer Greenland is of a piece with his general hostility to Europe...In the eyes of Mr. Trump and his acolytes, the old continent is the place of right-wing caricature, a ragbag of rootless nations in irreversible decline that love open borders, abhor free speech and are too stingy to pay for their own defense”.
As President Trump exercises great power force to seize Greenland from Denmark, this report continues, Vice President Karel Vereycken of the French Solidarity and Progrès Party warned: “The Europeans—and especially the Germans—who traded their sovereignty for the illusion of being defended by United States military might are in sheer panic...They have no weapons industry, no young men and women willing to serve in the military, and no money”—a warning joined by the Washington Post most factually observing: “America is the world’s most powerful nation, yet many of the richest and most capable countries do not balance against it — they ally with it...They defer to it on core security questions...They host its forces...They integrate their militaries with its...That is not normal in the long sweep of modern history...It is, in fact, close to unique”.
With the long sweep of modern history also showing that global war “could happen soon”, this report concludes, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed hopefully to reporters this week: “I think the President has very open, honest and good relations with both President Putin of Russia and President Xi of China...He has spoken with them numerous times, as you know, since coming to office about a year ago, and I believe that those personal relationships are going to continue”.
