Russia Cuts 2026 Military Spending As Ukraine Faces “Winter Is Coming” Apocalypse

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

A thought-provoking new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting top Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared: “Russia continues its special military operation in Ukraine due to a lack of options but remains ready to resolve the conflict peacefully...One way or another, Russia will safeguard its interests and achieve its goals”, says Foreign Ministry Ambassador Rodion Miroshnik also observed: “If Trump is now trying to exert pressure, provide military assistance to the gangsters, and supply them with long-range weapons such as Tomahawks, then this raises the question of how authentic his peacemaking efforts are — or whether he is starting to follow the same path as Biden, trying to support the Ukrainian side and escalate the conflict further...This is the political dispute currently unfolding”.

In following the same failed path taken by former socialist leader Biden, this report notes, President Donald Trump continues threatening to send long-range nuclear weapons capable Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine—threats joined by Western military experts revealing to the Financial Times: “The US has a total of 4,150 Tomahawk missiles...The US could spare no more than 20 to 50 long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles for Ukraine...Out of the 200 Tomahawks procured since 2022, more than 120 have already been fired...The Pentagon’s 2026 budget requests funding for just 57 additional missiles...While the long-range missiles could complement Ukraine’s own long-range attack drones and cruise missiles, they would project a very limited capability, certainly not enough to enable sustained, deep attacks against Russia”.

Along with world-renowned Canadian military analyst Mike Mihajlovic factually documenting last week: “At its core, the “Tomahawk for Ukraine” story is not about military reality...It is about theater...For those who understand how the Tomahawk actually works—its dependence on U.S. launch platforms, secure networks, cryptographic keys, and classified mission planning tools—the notion is laughable...It belongs more to the realm of marketing slogans and political posturing than to serious operational planning”, this report continues, top Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov just warned: “The United States can transfer up to 50 Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine...Here, this will in no way change the situation on the battlefield for Ukraine, but the overall harm could be enormous, and the harm is threefold: for the prospects of resolving the Ukrainian crisis; for the relations between Washington and Moscow; and for global security, because these supplies will inevitably lead to a new level of escalation of the conflict”.

While President Trump decides if he wants to travel the failed path of socialist leader Biden, this report details, Ukraine is facing a real life “Winter Is Coming” apocalypse as just revealed by CEO Serhii Koretskyi of Ukrainian state-owned oil and gas giant Naftogaz: “Russia struck a combined heat and power plant and launched three massive attacks on Ukraine’s gas production infrastructure over the last week...The new wave of attacks comes days after Russian strikes on 3 and 5 October wiped out around 60% of Ukraine’s gas production”—an apocalyptic revelation joined by articles like “Concerns Mount Over Europe's Below-Average NatGas Storage Levels Ahead Of Winter”—all of which followed the news: “Kyiv has adapted to the new normal: constant sirens, interceptions and explosions on one side; cafés and bars buzzing with people on the other...At night, many families keep a spare mattress in hallways or bathrooms, following official advice to sleep between at least two walls, away from windows, in case a missile hits...But beneath those routines lies a deeper unease — that the rest of Europe is tired, turning its attention away from the war and viewing it as something that should simply end, no matter the cost to Ukraine”.

As winter bears down on a socialist European Union unable to provide heat to its own citizens, this report concludes, top President Trump official Secretary of War Pete Hegseth urged them today to buy more weapons for Ukraine—socialist European Union leader Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski then proclaimed: “Western nations should prepare to continue bankrolling Ukraine’s war effort against Russia for at least three more years”—and as the socialist European Union continues bankrupting itself paying for a war Ukraine has already lost, top Western military analysts Alexander Hill and Ted Snider most factually observed: “Russia has weathered the harshest sanctions regime the West could muster...Russia has the fourth largest economy in the world when measured by purchasing-power parity, which is an assessment of the size of an economy adjusted for the cost of goods and services within it, and is a key measure used by the World Bank...Russia’s GDP growth continues to be more than respectable – currently still expected to be above 1% for 2025 even according to conservative figures...For the first time since the war began, the 2026 budget actually cuts military spending...Russia will officially spend 5.8% of GDP on defense spending...In comparison, Ukraine spends 34.48% of GDP on the military, the largest military burden in the world”.
