American Domino Game Lost In Vietnam Meets Same Fate Against Russia

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

An insightful new Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today first noting the decree signed by President Putin to ban Russian oil sales to entities that require compliance with socialist Western colonial price caps came into full force this morning, says this price cap was actually nonsensical because the budget was drawn up on the basis of $44 per barrel of oil, and shortly after this ban came into force it was reported: “Export shipments of Russian crude have risen substantially this month, with most of these leaving on Western-insured tankers thanks to prices...Oil loadings from Primorsk, Ust-Luga, and Novorosiisk are set to top 9.5 million tons in total this month as Urals, Russia’s flagship blend drops below $50, when the price cap set by the G7 and the EU is $60 per barrel”.

In yet another nonsensical move, this report notes, yesterday the socialist Biden Regime accused Russia of not complying with its obligations under the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, the only remaining treaty limiting the world’s two largest nuclear arsenals signed by former Russian and American presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama—and in quick response to this nonsensical accusation, Ambassador Anatoly Antonov factually pointed out: “These actions concern the central limits of New START, undermining the key goal of the agreement – to maintain the balance of the parties strategic offensive arms...Russia has always impeccably observed the provisions of the New START treaty...It was Washington that had violated the accords by illegitimately withdrawing more than a hundred strategic weapons from accountability under the treaty...We have repeatedly pointed out to Washington that the situation around START is a direct result of the hybrid war unleashed by the West against our country...We warned them that arms control could not be isolated from geopolitical realities...In the current conditions, we consider it unjustified, untimely, and inappropriate to invite the US military to our strategic facilities”.

In further explaining why it’s nonsensical for the socialist Biden Regime to believe Russia would allow American military inspectors to inspect Russia nuclear weapon strategic facilities, this report continues, top Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov most factually observed: “We see how NATO’s entire military infrastructure is working against Russia, and we see how NATO’s entire intelligence infrastructure, including reconnaissance aviation, and satellite groupings are working in the interests of Ukraine in a 24/7 mode...Such actions create very peculiar, hostile conditions for Russia which Moscow cannot help but notice”—and is a factual observation that follows Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov factually assessing: “It is obvious that the United States is not only the main conductor in the Ukraine crisis, but also its main beneficiary…Among other things, Washington considers Ukraine as a testing ground for its military-industrial products, where various weapons systems and methods of their use, including modern, very long-range ones, are being tested for resistance to Russian weapons”.

With European Union members Austria and Hungary announcing they won’t send weapons to Ukraine, this report details, it caused German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to travel to the Global South for support yesterday, but during a brutal press conference, he was slapped down by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who stated: “I think the reason for the war between Russia and Ukraine also needs to be clearer…Is it because of NATO?...Is it because of territorial claims?...Is it because of entry into Europe?....The world has little information about that”.

As to why the socialist Western colonial powers are fighting against Russia, this report notes, was made clear by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who yesterday proclaimed: “If President Putin wins in Ukraine, this would send a message that authoritarian regimes can achieve their goals through brute force…This is dangerous…Beijing is watching closely…And learning lessons that may influence its future decisions…What is happening in Europe today could happen in East Asia tomorrow…So we must remain united and firm…Standing together for freedom and democracy”—but in factual reality, this was a “Domino Theory proclamation, about which history now records: The domino theory was a Cold War policy that suggested a communist government in one nation would quickly lead to communist takeovers in neighboring states, each falling like a row of dominos…In Southeast Asia, the U.S. government used the now-discredited domino theory to justify its involvement in the Vietnam War and its support for a non-communist dictator in South Vietnam”.

Among those noticing that the socialist Biden Regime and its Western colonial allies have trotted out the discredited “Domino Theory” to justify their warmongering against Russia, this report concludes, is Russian historical writer Matthieu Buge, who, in his just released open letter “50 Years After Leaving Vietnam, The US Keeps Getting Involved In Wars Without Understanding Them”, observed: “Former US Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara only came to understand in the 1990’s when he met with Vietnamese General Vo Nguyen Giap…With astonishment, he suddenly realized that the Vietnamese were fighting a war of independence, not an ideological war...The 20-year conflict in Vietnam had never been about the spread of communism in the world...Concerning US foreign policy, the elderly and experienced politician went on to say: “We don’t understand the Bosnians, we don’t understand the Chinese, and we don’t really understand the Iranians”...With the exception of colonized Western Europe, it seems to be a good summary of Washington’s policy towards countries all over the world”—and is an observation concurred with by American diplomat James Carden, a former adviser to the US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission at the United States Department of State, who, in his just released open letter “Ukraine Proves We Learned Nothing From The Vietnam War”, assessed:

Only hours after the successful conclusion of the First Gulf War, President George H.W. Bush declared, “By God, we’ve kicked the Vietnam syndrome once and for all”.

And kick it Bush did: In the decades following his 1991 pronouncement, the United States has been at war in one form or another (either as a belligerent or unofficial co-belligerent—as is the case with our involvement in Saudi Arabia’s grotesque war on Yemen) for all but two of the 32 years that have followed.

Yet the atmosphere that now prevails in Washington makes it exceedingly difficult to believe such a thing as a “Vietnam Syndrome” ever existed.  Indeed, President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Ukraine has been met with rapturous approval from the Washington establishment, winning plaudits from all the usual suspects.

But can the Biden policy truly be credited as a success when the entire ordeal might have been avoided by judicious diplomatic engagement?  Are we really to believe that the war which so far has resulted in 8 million refugees and roughly 200,000 battlefield deaths has been worth a promise of NATO membership for Ukraine?

Conspicuous by its absence in what passes for foreign policy discourse in the American capital is the question of American interests: How does the allocation of vast sums to a wondrously corrupt regime in Kiev in any way materially benefit everyday Americans?

Does the imposition of a narrow, sectarian Galician nationalism over the whole of Ukraine truly constitute a core American interest?  Does the prolongation of a proxy war between NATO and Russia further European and American security interests?  If so, how?

In truth, the lessons of Vietnam were forgotten long ago.  The generation that now populates the ranks of the Washington media and political establishment came of age when Vietnam was already in the rearview mirror.

The unabashed liberal interventionists who staff the Biden administration cut their teeth in the 1990s when it was commonly believed that the U.S. didn’t act often enough, notably in Bosnia and in Rwanda.  As such, and almost without exception, the current crop of foreign policy hands now in power have supported every American mis-adventure abroad since 9/11.

The caution which, albeit all-too-temporarily, stemmed from the ‘Vietnam Syndrome’ is today utterly absent from the corridors of power in Joe Biden’s Washington.

The Vietnam Syndrome is indeed kicked: Dead and buried.

But we may soon come to regret its passing.
